Instructions and Cautions - Please read!

A Thermette is simple to use:

Please note that in dry conditions you must clear sufficient ground clutter to avoid the possibility of accidental fires.

For Boiling water:

First, fill your Thermette with water. You can use carried water or wild water from a river, lake or stream.

Place Fire Base on a level surface with opening towards the direction of the wind. Fill Fire Base with paper and/or kindling and ignite. A paint can lid may be placed in the bottom of the Fire Ring for a completely self-contained unit.  .

Then, carefully add wood scraps, twigs, or other flammable materials to the fire base - just use whatever fuel is handy  .  Place the Thermette Kettle on the fire base and Carefully light the fire.

Continue to carefully  feed the fire from the top.  The Thermette will hold a surprising amount of fuel and soon you'll have a good sized flame. Once your flame is established, be cautious when maneuvering near the chimney and the flame.

Thermette Design Creates a Tornadic Forced Draft.

Feed the Fire from the Top of the Thermette

Keep feeding the fire until the water has boiled briskly for at least three minutes.

CAUTION:  Never use kettle without water: Serious damage to Thermette will occur

Use the Handles!
Remove the Thermette by the handles on its  side.

Always drain Thermette (Turn Up-Side Down) and Dry thoroughly after every use.

We know that  similar kettles and cookers are on the market...   The Thermette is the only outdoor kettle that can be used with one hand without fear of being burned. There's no bail to scorch your knuckles and you don't need a chain to balance a Thermette for safe pouring.

However, Please note that the Thermette and fire base get very hot! Be careful to only use only the handles to avoid burns

Avoid touching the kettle. Use heat protective mitts to touch any part except the handles.

When water boils, remove the Thermette Kettle from the Fire Base using only the handles on the side and pour..

Pour and enjoy!

Drain your Thermette and let it cool before packing it away for transport. (Remember to thoroughly extinguish the fire before moving the fire base!)

Never use Thermette is an enclosed space such as a Camper, tent, car or house. Failure to comply with the precautions and Instructions provided with this poutdoor stove, can result in death, serious bodily injury and property loss or damage from hazzards of fire, burns, asphyxiation, and or carbon monoxide poisoning.
